Foot and Ankle Surgery and Career Missy Journot, D.P.M is a Fellowship trained Sports Medicine Foot and Ankle Surgeon. She earned her degree at Des Moines University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, IA and completed her residency training at Truman Medical Center Lakewood in Kansas City, MO. She then went on to complete her Fellowship training in sports medicine foot and ankle surgery at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. In fellowship Dr. Journot specialized in biomechanical problems of the foot and ankle and custom orthotic devices. Dr. Journot specializes in the treatment of musculoskeletal foot and ankle injuries with a focus on sports medicine, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, tendon pathology, ligament injuries, trauma and fracture care, joint replacement, and arthritis management.   About Missy Journot, D.P.M Dr. Journot was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was a four-year division 1 soccer athlete at University of Northern Iowa and understands the importance of a quick recovery from injuries. She relocated to Kansas City for residency training and has enjoyed the beauty of KC. She enjoys spending time with family and friends in the area, playing board games and exploring new restaurants in the city. She continues to play soccer as often as possible and enjoys being outside and active.
