Minimally Invasive Arthroscopic Surgery

Advances in medical technology have made many surgical procedures less invasive than ever. When orthopedic surgery is required, Greiner Orthopedics can perform minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, when possible, to treat patients suffering from problems with their knees, hips, and other joints.

Arthroscopy Surgical Procedure

During the procedure, Dr. Greiner makes tiny incisions in the skin and inserts a small instrument with a miniature camera to view the inside of a joint. Dr. Greiner may then use specialized miniature tools to perform surgery without having to make a larger incision. Because arthroscopic surgery is minimally invasive, it is typically performed as outpatient surgery.

Recovery Time After Procedure

Because arthroscopic surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis, most patients return home the same day. We’ll create a customized treatment plan designed to help you manage pain, as well as provide additional recovery instructions, including rest, elevation, and the use of crutches or a sling. You may also be prescribed a formal physical therapy program to strengthen your muscles and restore your joint’s range of motion.

Following Dr. Greiner’s instructions after your surgery will offer you the best chance of a full recovery.
